Image Properties for Visprodesign®

To ensure high quality of printed products in Visprodesign®, the print data must strictly comply with the following requirements:

Copyrights

  • You must be the full owner of the copyright or usage rights of the motif.
  • You must not infringe any third-party rights by using the motif.
  • You acknowledge that Vispronet® will refer the rights holder with all claims to the client in case of a legal infringement.

File Format

The following file formats are accepted for uploading your own images (max. 200 MB, max. 8-bit channel color depth/image mode):

  • JPG.JPG, .JPEG PNG.PNG SVG.SVG Tiff.TIF, .TIFF

Color Mode & Conversion

Create your print data in RGB mode. For orders designed in Visprodesign® or produced using a digital printing process, we additionally perform the conversion of the delivered print data from RGB mode to CMYK mode. However, since many RGB colors lie outside the reproducible color gamut, this conversion may result in accuracy losses in color reproduction. The color conversion assigns a similar but not necessarily identical new color to the original color value. Print data with transparencies are not permitted!

Resolution

Resolution is a measure of image quality in the printing process. The higher the resolution, the better the print quality. Please avoid interpolating (upscaling) images, as this does not improve the output quality of your print data and can mislead the quality indicator. Additionally, it must be ensured that despite high overall resolution, all graphic elements, especially lines, are not too small or too thin to be properly printed.

In principle, a camera with at least 12 megapixels is recommended, set to the highest image resolution (4,048 x 3,040 pixels). The maximum side length of 20,000 pixels in height or width must not be exceeded.

Quality Indicator

The quality indicator shows whether a photo (pixel-based image, e.g., JPG) is suitable for good printing. Vector data (e.g., SVG) can be printed in good quality at any size and therefore do not have a quality indicator.

The quality indicator display is based on the resolution of the uploaded image and the image size and serves only as an approximate guideline for orientation.

The quality of an image is divided into three levels:

  • green = optimal quality Image is suitable for printing
  • yellow = sufficient quality Note: Quality is still good, but the image may show some blurriness in the print
  • red   = insufficient quality Error message: Image is not printable, please upload a different image

Enlarging a pixel-based image can lead to insufficient quality. An error message will be displayed on the image as well as in the lower left corner of the design area. Clicking opens a list of faulty images along with corresponding recommendations to achieve good print quality.

For more information, use the icon next to the quality indicator or in the lower left corner of the design area:

  • Warning (sufficient quality)
  • Error (insufficient quality)

Monitor Display

Display on a computer monitor is in RGB mode. Due to different screen settings, color representation may vary from monitor to monitor, and some monitors may have a color cast. Please note that what is visible on the monitor does not necessarily correspond to the final print result. For accurate color reproduction, the monitor must be professionally calibrated and profiled.

Print Approval

Please check your design in the 3D or product preview before adding your finished product to the shopping cart.

The position of design elements, as well as the content of the motif and spelling, are not checked during the production process. Therefore, it must be ensured that all important image and text elements are within the dashed line (safe area). Background images must extend to the outer design edge to avoid unwanted white borders.

By placing your order, you confirm the accuracy of the design and simultaneously approve it for printing.
