Properties and application options of behind-glass film
In contrast to behind-glass stickers, behind-glass film is not self-adhesive, but self-clinging by adhesion. This means it can be removed from the glass without damage and used multiple times. It is made of soft, transparent PVC with 150 µm, onto which the print is applied in mirror image. This ensures that when applied from the inside, it is also perfectly visible and legible from the outside. Bright colours with very good lightfastness are used. White printing behind the colour areas is also possible; this makes the colours appear more brilliant.
The behind-glass film is predestined for use on shop windows of any kind. Whether for promoting a discount campaign at the jeweller, announcing the seasonal change of range in a large fashion store, or displaying special offers for the bakery’s upcoming anniversary – there are many occasions on which your advertising is best showcased on a behind-glass film. Application instructions for Vispronet® behind-glass film
So that you can mount your behind-glass film professionally on a shop window, a window or a glass door, we provide you with useful application instructions. A satisfactory result can only be achieved if the film adheres without bubbles and creases.
- First clean the intended glass surface, as it must be free of dirt, oils and silicones, dry and smooth. The optimum application temperature is above 10°C. For smaller printed behind-glass films up to DIN A5, dry application is possible.
- Align your motif and gradually peel off the backing paper starting from one corner. Make sure not to overstretch the printed film.
- Press the behind-glass film firmly with a soft application squeegee and smooth out any air bubbles from the centre towards the edges. For larger formats, wet application is more suitable. For this you need a soap solution with half a teaspoon of washing-up liquid per litre of water. Apply it evenly and generously to the glass using a cloth or spray bottle and then proceed as with dry application.
- If the behind-glass film does not adhere in the desired position, you can simply peel it off, reposition it and apply it again.
